Oh the Places You'll Go!

Dr.Seuss said it best when he wrote "Congratulations! Today is your day - You're off and away" - and this can be YOU so grab a suitcase and let’s get going!

You want to go places, but you just don’t know where to start…let us entertain you with a few choices which have all these things in common: All have breathtaking scenery, colorful history, plenty of activities - and English as the primary language!

Did you know?

Bermuda is closer than you think! It is far north of the Caribbean and located at the same latitude as Charleston SC.  Visit this pink sand oasis May through October and bring your golf clubs!

“Panama, Panama” (can you hear Van Halen singing?) The canal is a great history lesson, but how about the waterfalls, rainforests and volcanos!  Did we mention lions, monkeys and turtles oh my!

North to Alaska! You have thought about Alaska we know, make those travel plans between May and September.  Check out glaciers, humpback whales (really) and you have to be outside and go rafting or zip-lining, they do both!

Hawaii is happening!  It is “the” year-round popular destination with nearly perfect climate throughout the year, Barack and Michelle will vouch for that. You can view active volcanoes, lush canyons, endless beaches and cruising is the best way to get an overview of it all!

East coast Canada and New England offer a cultural and historical legacy. The best time to go here is in the fall to view the gorgeous fall foliage, as well as enjoying quaint shops & cafes and historic lighthouses. Your camera will be your friend as you snap and snap and snap more photographs of this incredible region.

Pacific Coastal region?  Hmmmm, so under-appreciated, so enormous on the fun times!  There are so many fascinating cities, but the best event is stretching out and watching those whales ride out through the sensational sunset.  It is heaven on earth.

So make today your “day”, just pick one of these great places and we will have your trip underway!  Contact Us

FUNDRAISING CRUISES - A NEW INNOVATIVE IDEA FOR NON-PROFITS

Are you tired of mundane fundraising ideas such as selling chocolate covered almonds and holiday wrapping paper?  Then we have a solution for you with Cruise Planners…a “fundraising cruise” which will be lots of “fun” for your nonprofit.

Fundraising is a job, no doubt about it, and at the end of the day it just doesn’t result in the amount of dollars to keep that nonprofit going all year long.  Don’t let your group fall victim to “volunteer malaise”
Solstice Class

A "fundraiser cruise" gives nonprofits the ability to create greater interest - cruises get attention as who doesn’t love to travel?

Here’s how Cruise Planners can work with you for that one-of-a kind cruise experience for your group.  We can do all the planning and prep work - leaving the non-profit staff time to enjoy themselves with all their special guests.  With no additional charge, we can organize meeting space for your group, for those special events, educational seminars and we can even distribute those “swag bag” gifts that you have prepared for your cruise attendees.

So what are you waiting for?  Let’s get your donors excited about a fundraising cruise, the most popular and least painful fundraising event for nonprofits.  We’re just a call or an email away! Contact us for more details.

STUART'S TIPS TO TAKE SOME OF THE PAIN OUT OF TRAVELING

I love to travel and it is a passion I share with my husband, Stuart.  He is a frequent traveler with both personal and business travel.  Over the years, he has learned a trick or two that makes traveling less exhausting and much more enjoyable. From his extensive traveling repertoire I asked for his top six travel tips, and here they are for you:
  1. KEEP IT LIGHT! Pack light with basic colors for mixing and matching, therefore you don't have to carry too many shoes. Pack some older clothes you don't mind leaving behind; this leaves room to purchase new things without carrying a backbreaking suitcase back home with you.
  2. KEEP YOUR DOGS HAPPY! Stuart says, "Remember, compression socks are not only for seniors – they will quickly become your best buddy... if your dogs are not happy walking long distances through airports, they will soon have you howling!!" Comfortable feet make for happy traveling.
  3. MOVIE TIME!  Download free movies from YouTube to your tablet or laptop, because some flights are mighty long.
  4. H20 IS YOUR FRIEND!  Make sure you drink lots of water while on flights to keep hydrated.  During long flights get up and move around to avoid the possibility of blood clots. Stuart says he does leg exercises while waiting for his turn to use the restroom on board a long flight.
  5. GOODNIGHT, SLEEP TIGHT!  Once you arrive at your destination, get into the new time zone as quickly as possible by taking a short nap when you arrive after a long flight.  SHORT is the key word here, so set the alarm, then you will be able to get into normal bed time routine right away.
  6. MY HOTEL IS LOCATED WHERE?  When you travel a lot for business, Stuart says that he has gotten into the habit of taking one of the hotel's business cards when he checks in and immediately putting it into his pocket.  This new habit enables him to easily remember the hotel's address when he goes out exploring in a new destination.

These surefire tips from my dear husband, Stuart, will keep your travel pleasant and allow a little extra time to go find another adventure or two.  You know what they say about all work and no play…plan ahead so you’ll have plenty of play!
